How to Program Alexa to Call 911

Creating The 911 Skill

Before you can program Alexa to call 911, you’ll need to create a custom skill in the Alexa Skills Kit. To do this, you’ll need to provide some basic information about the skill, including a name and description. You’ll also need to specify the interaction model for the skill.

The interaction model is the blueprint that defines how users interact with your skill. It includes the intents, or actions, that users can perform, as well as the utterances, or phrases, that users can say to invoke those intents. In the case of a 911 skill, you’ll need to define an intent for calling 911 and include several utterances that a user might say to invoke that intent.

After you’ve defined the interaction model for your skill, you’ll need to write the code that implements theskill’s functionality. This code will run in AWS Lambda, a service that lets you run code without provisioning or managing servers.

When you’ve finished writing your code, you can test it using either an Amazon Echo device or the Alexa Simulator
